HIM Fanparty @ New Backstage

The New Backstage was already crowded when we arrived around 20.30. The atmosphare inside was nice. Though the price for the tickets was that low, 7 for each ticket, not that many people were there. Most of the girls were standing infront of the big video screen where you could watch some HIM clips while waiting for the fanmeeting to start.

A couple of minutes past 21:00 HIM`s promotion lady, "Mutti" Silke came on stage to welcome the audience. "Hello, welcome, I guess you all know what the big surprise is, so I won`t let you wait any longer, here are HIM!" After that the guys entered the stage. They seemed quite relaxed though Ville had to confess that he and Mige would have been very nervous due to the long time they havenґt played life. But the sound was good. HIM opened the fanparty with "Right here in my Arms", contiuned with "The Sacrament", followed by the old classic "Wicked Game". Than it was time for something that every one has been waiting for. Valo announced the first new song from the new record, "Killing Loneliness", I guess the new song fit well for the ears of the listeners. "Killing Loneliness" is a fast and rocky track. Ville claimed that he would have lost his Rock`n`Roll voice but actually it sounded better than at the last gigs.

It seems HIM got their old power back. Of course "Killing Loneliness" was not the only new track that night. The guys introduced one more new song to the audience in Munich. "Vampire Heart". "Vampire Heart" was dedicated to all the gothic chicks in the hall. Furthermore the setlist contained "Soul on Fire", "Join Me", "Poison Girl",... "Your Sweet Six Six Six" was changed into "Your Sweet 6 16". The explanation of this was that they have found out about that in the bible and so it should actually be called "Your Sweet 6 16"...

Of course the fans didnґt allowd the band to leave without playing an encoure. After the sentence "Thanks for participating tonight", "Funeral of Hearts" ended the fanparty and after some little "aftershowparty" and a short signing session for the fans outside. Everybody left. I guess the people who`ve been there can be very content about this gig.

HIM left `round 0.40 for Nьrnberg to prepare themselfs for Rock im Park. So did we. I guess it was around 03.00 when we reached home totaly tyred...
